Last updated: 4 June 2026

By using RideClub, you agree to these Terms and Conditions and the related Privacy Policy, Payment Terms, Safety and Reporting Policy, and Cookie and Marketing Notice.

1. Platform role

RideClub is a verified shared-rides and lift-club platform for planned commutes and scheduled shared trips.

RideClub is not an e-hailing service, taxi operator, transport company, employer of drivers, bank, escrow provider, or payment processor.

Users arrange planned shared rides with one another. Drivers are independent users who offer seats on routes they already intend to travel.

2. Account eligibility and verification

  • Users must provide accurate, current, and complete account information.
  • Users must complete verification and be approved before posting rides, requesting rides, or requesting seats.
  • Riders may need to provide identity information and ID or passport documents.
  • Drivers may need to provide identity information, driver's licence details, vehicle information, vehicle licence disc details, and vehicle photos.
  • RideClub may suspend or restrict accounts for false information, unsafe conduct, fraud, identity misuse, payment misuse, or policy violations.

3. Planned shared rides

  • RideClub supports planned shared rides, lift clubs, once-off rides, and recurring commutes.
  • RideClub does not dispatch drivers, control routes as a transport operator, or guarantee that any ride will be available or accepted.
  • Drivers remain responsible for safe driving, roadworthiness, licence requirements, insurance obligations, and compliance with applicable law.
  • Riders and drivers remain responsible for their own conduct, punctuality, ride arrangements, and lawful behaviour.

4. Payments and fees

  • RideClub does not directly process, store, or handle your card, bank, or payment account details. Payments are processed by third-party payment providers.
  • RideClub does not take a ride commission from shared rides. T&Cs apply.
  • RideClub may charge platform, verification, subscription, promotional, or processing-related fees where clearly disclosed.
  • Cash is handled directly between rider and driver where selected.
  • Payment disputes, refunds, reversals, chargebacks, and payout holds may be reviewed for fraud prevention, safety, support, and legal compliance.

5. Safety, reports, and cooperation with authorities

  • Users must not threaten, harass, abuse, discriminate, impersonate, scam, steal, assault, or behave unlawfully toward other users.
  • RideClub may report suspected crime, fraud, identity misuse, payment fraud, threats, violence, harassment, theft, assault, unsafe conduct, or other unlawful activity to SAPS or relevant authorities.
  • RideClub may cooperate with law enforcement where legally required or where necessary to protect users and prevent fraud.
  • Support chat and reports may be stored for customer service, safety, dispute resolution, fraud prevention, quality improvement, training, and legal compliance.

6. Data and marketing

  • RideClub may collect and use platform data for analytics, product improvement, marketing insights, audience understanding, campaign measurement, and promotional strategy.
  • Direct marketing will be handled with consent and opt-out options where required.
  • Users can update marketing communication preferences where the app provides that setting.

7. Verification document handling

RideClub does not publicly display verification documents. Verification documents are stored securely, access is restricted, and they are used only for verification, safety, fraud prevention, legal compliance, and support purposes.

8. Changes, suspension, and termination

RideClub may update the platform, these Terms, or related policies. RideClub may restrict, suspend, or terminate access where reasonably necessary for safety, legal compliance, fraud prevention, payment integrity, or policy enforcement.

9. South African law

These Terms are governed by the laws of South Africa.
